ToolDay Launches First Dedicated Marketplace for Used Tools & Equipment
SEQUIM, WA— February 27, 2026
ToolDay has launched as the first online marketplace exclusively for buying and selling quality used tools. It connects DIY enthusiasts and makers with affordable tools while ensuring safety and trust.
ToolDay is revolutionizing the used tools marketplace by providing a dedicated platform for buying and selling quality tools and equipment online. With a focus on community, safety, and affordability.
Woman-founded startup creates a safe, curated marketplace for high-quality secondhand tools, eliminating the risks of general classifieds.
Finding the right tool shouldn’t feel like a high-stakes gamble. Today marks the official launch of ToolDay, a dedicated online marketplace designed to revolutionize how DIYers, makers, and tradespeople buy and sell high-quality equipment. Founded on the principle of "pro gear without the retail sting," ToolDay offers a secure, curated ecosystem that prioritizes safety and community over the chaos of general classified sites.
The inspiration for ToolDay was born out of necessity when founders Jackie and James Lebihan purchased a new construction home that showed "more flaws than a bad first date." As they turned to the secondhand market to manage a never-ending repair list, they were met with counterfeit gear, unresponsive sellers, and "sketchy" meetups.
"I was tired of meeting up with strangers in sketchy places just to save a few bucks, only to find the tool didn't work," says Jackie Lebihan, Co-founder of ToolDay. "It wasn't just a safety risk; it was a waste of time. ToolDay is our community-driven response to a broken standard."
A Precision Tool for a Specific Community
Unlike all-purpose marketplaces, ToolDay filters out the noise. The platform focuses exclusively on the DIY, maker, and trade communities, offering a "concierge experience" that caters to:
- Individual DIYers: Accessing brand-name gear (Makita, Milwaukee, Dremel) on a budget.
- Power Sellers: Avoiding the flakes and frustrations of Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.
- Professional Partners: Providing estate sale agents, thrift stores, pawn shops, and liquidators more visibility with a highly targeted audience.
The platform is particularly committed to empowering women in the trades and DIY scene—a demographic often overlooked in traditional tool spaces. By promoting the resale of quality gear, ToolDay also champions sustainability, helping the maker community reduce waste while saving money.
Beyond the Transaction: A Maker Ecosystem
While ToolDay begins as a marketplace, the founders’ vision extends far beyond the checkout button. The company is building an integrated destination for the entire project journey.
"We aren’t just selling tools; we are building a home for the community," Jackie explains. "Our roadmap includes tool reviews, how-to resources, and vetted services. We want to support makers from the moment they get an idea to the moment they drive the last screw."
